You can collect data all you want but in the long run we’re in the computer age now – people need to bring that data into various other places like 3D models, or perform geostats calculations on it, and if you’re data is not clean it can take months and cost up to hundreds of thousands of dollars to clean that up. To have a simple program which eliminates even simple errors which people don’t think about? That’s all you need, and Excel just can’t give that to you.

With GCMC we had been doing paper logging for a number of years, and we always had to go back and do data validation at the end of the season, and that would be a 6 week process. With moving over to a customized GeoSpark Core for our project, we will do direct data entry into the machines at site. It made the logging more efficient at site, and we were able to reduce that 6 week verification period down to about 5 days.
